On Dec 10, 2005 Laotian American Society(LAS) of greater Georgia have put together a second annual fund raising ball in Duluth, Georgia.
According to our recent interview with Nongphrachang Ritmixay, a president of LAS, she stated that…”This function has many purposes: help raise the money is our LAS’s priority goal. We would to set a side the money in supporting our high school senior
and college students-pursuing higher education. Secondly, since this organization was mainly established by young Laotian American professional, we would like to be recognized that we are for real, that we are for sure and most important of all we are existed. And thirdly, we want to excel and expand our horizon.”
Laotian American Society(LAS), a none-profit organization was established by young Laotian American college students and professional in greater Georgia in 2002.
The mission is to committed to bring and provide all resources to the needs of all people of various ethnic backgrounds from Laos. To improve the quality of life through our educational, health, and welfare programs by organizing and sponsoring educational, cultural, social, and other related activities.
The second fund raisign annual was a great success, more than 400 attendees help raised scholarship fund. There were many sponsors and supporters from local and out of states organizations, business owners such as: Laotian American Association of greater Washington DC, Organization of Chinese American(OCA), Thai community, NK Design and construction Firm, various restaurants.
Nongphrachang Ritmixay left us with the final words ...”Thank you for all of you to come out to support us and continue supports the Laotian American community so that we can stand tall and represent our community at a higher level.”
