Laos says the construction of a railway linking the Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge to the Lao port of Tha Nalaeng is expected to be completed by 2007. Lao authorities are now asking interested construction companies to submit bids.
And the second phase of the railway construction, linking the port to the capital city of Vientiane, is increasingly possible, now that France has confirmed its commitment to help the Lao government.
