Some thirty Lao police officers are receiving counter-narcotics and drug control law enforcement training in Kunming.
China is providing this one-month training assistance to the Lao police at the Yunnan Police College, where more than 2,000 anti-drug Chinese police officers and nearly 500 officers from Southeast Asian nations have been trained.
A group of 90 Lao police officers have participated in such training courses since 2002. Participants learn about such subjects as anti-drug situations and strategies, drug inspections, and counter-narcotics law enforcement.
