The President of the Lao National Assembly, Samanh Vignaket, says the exchanges of visits by leaders have resulted in many positive international trends in the past year that have created an environment conducive to peace, stability, and cooperation in the ASEAN region.
But at the same time, there have been challenges affecting ASEAN cooperation and development, such as terrorism, transnational crime, contageous diseases, and rising fuel prices, which have also had direct impact on Laos’ economy.
