The registration period for illegal labor in Thailand ended on Aug. 30. Reports say only some 700,000 illegal workers from Laos, Burma, and Cambodia took advantage and registered with the Thai Employment Office, down from 800-thousand reported last year, which means Thai employers will be short-handed by one million workers because official records show 1.7 million workers are needed.
