08/28/05: Panel Signs Iraqi Draft Consstitution


The panel in charge of drafting Iraq's constitution has signed a final draft of the charter.
Committee members say they signed the final version today (Sunday) after making minor changes in an attempt to appease the Sunni Arab minority.
Most committee members agreed to the new charter, including some Sunni Arabs. But Associated Press reports others refused to accept the final version and did not sign it.
