Laos: 39% of Sex Workers in Vientiane at High Risk of Contracting HIV-AIDS Virus


The FSI says 39% of sex workers in the Laotian capital of Vientiane are at a high risk of contracting the HIV-AIDS virus.

In another bad news, cyanide leak from gold mines kills fish in downstream river, damaging the livelihood of 340 families of three villages along the river.

Pan Australia Resources who has been drilling gold mines in the Phou Bia area of the Saysomboun Special Zone has provided rice and money in compensation to the villagers.
