Members of the Greater Mekong Sub-Region signed six accords at the end of their two-day summit in Kunming, China, last month and issued a joint communique pledging comprehensive cooperation in developing their region, focusing on the following areas: speeding up the electric power and Information Super-highway cooperation; implementing the agreement on transportation cooperation and the framework of trade and investment facilitation, with the long-tern goal aiming at eradicating poverty in the region.
