Laos says the case of the more than 6,500 Hmongs currently living in Thailand’s Phetchabun province is not clear-cut and is Thailand’s internal affairs.
Therefore, it will not discuss the matter with Thailand unless it is absolutely necessary. Laos maintains the Thai have not formally brought up the matter in any bilateral talks.
