The latest meeting between Laos’ and Thailand’s defense ministers on general border security talks failed to discuss the controversial issue of the Phetchabun Hmongs, even though the Thai minister, General Thammarack Isarangura Na Ayutthaya, had said he would bring the matter up.
However, the two sides pledged closer and more comprehensive cooperation on border security, including the prevention and crackdown on all forms of crimes and the movements of the so-called "bad elements.'.
The talks took place last week in Vientiane.
