The Lao PDR’s third national census reveals that the Lao population has increased at an average rate of 2.4% per year, and that women outnumber men, 52% to 48%, in a population of more than 5.6 million.
The census also shows that Savannakhet has the largest population, with over 800,000 followed by Vientiane and Champassack.
