Suicide Attack on Fuel Truck in Iraq Kills 70

Iraqis struggled today (Sunday) to identify dozens of charred bodies from a fiery suicide bombing that killed at least 70 people south of Baghdad.
Police say a bomber detonated explosives strapped to his body near a fuel truck in Musayyib late Saturday. The massive blast wounded more than 80 people and caught nearby homes on fire.

Officials in Pakistan say 17 foreign militants have been killed in a clash with Pakistani forces near the Afghan border.

U.S. military officials in Afghanistan say four soldiers have been injured by a roadside bomb explosion in the eastern part of the country.

The Canadian military has announced it is sending 2,000 troops and a top special-forces commando unit to Afghanistan to hunt for Taleban and al-Qaida militants.
