Royal Classical Dance Troupe of Luang Prabang.

Three generations of Laotian-Americans in Nashville, TN, have put their best efforts to preserve and maintain their
600 years-old royal classical dances. Different lifestyle and socio-economic backgrounds in their new home make
it very difficult to preserve and maintain this tradition.

Despite it all, the older generation is trying very hard to pass on their graceful heritage to the younger ones. Wat Lao of Nashville, Tennessee, has become the common gathering ground for dance practice and all major activities for the Laotian American community. There is a weekly dance practice at
Wat Lao to keep the ancient
art alive.
