Vietnam Party Secretary visited Laos last week to strengthen the special cooperation, friendship and solidary between their two parties, states and peoples. Bilateral trades increased 32% from 2003 to US$165 millions in 2004, while Vietnamese investment in Laos now totals over $300 millions and is expected to double in the next five years. Cross-border drug trafficking, however, remains a major problem for the two neighbors.
