U.S forces launched more airstrikes in the Iraqi city of Fallujah today, trying to clear put the last pockets of resistance ny insurgents in the area. American military officials say coalition troops have found an underground bunker and reinforced tunnels beneath buildings in Fallujah.

Officials say a former policeman and a Burmese migrant worker have been shot dead in violence-torn southern Thailand. Police said Aroon Pongchangkid found shot to death in his home at a rubber plantation in Krong penang district, while a Burmese man was found outside the home with wounds from the same weapon or a similar one.

Teleban-linked militants who are holding three U.N. workers hostage in Afghanistan say their captives' lives depend on whether the Kabul government can reach an agreemnet today on the kidnappers' demands.
