Foreign Journalists Witness Hmong Rebels' Plights in Laos - 2004-06-24


A Bangkok-based Canadian freelance journalist and two BBC reporters who risked their lives to travel into the jungles of Laos and spent time with the Hmong rebels there show the world a video they made of the rebels’ plights and ask the international community to intervene on their behalfs.

Nelson Rand spent three weeks with Moua Toua Ter's and Young Toua Tao's groups in The Saysomboun Special Zone while BBC reporters, Ruhi Hamid and husband Misha Maltsev, visited Wa Leng Lee's group in Borikhamsay province.

Nelson Rand and Ruhi Hamid recently visited VOA-Lao Service and discussed the Hmongs' plights.
